After a gastronomic breakfast in our elegant dining room, drive ten minutes down the road to your chosen hunter, and trot directly through the gate onto one of the least populated parts of Dartmoor. A couple of hours' ride, or however long you choose, at whatever pace you like, meet your partner(s) for lunch at a traditional local hostelry, and/or home, back a different way, in time for tea and cake and crumpets in front of a roaring log fire.
Unwind on the patio with a glass of bubbly, watching the birds and bats swirling in the tree tops, and end the day with a candle-lit four-course dinner.
Sweet dreams are guaranteed in a new/Vispring superking bed, high thread-count Egyptian cotton bedlinen, scrumply duvets, fluffy white towels and bathrobes, White Company toiletries and home-made jasmine bath oil. Non-Riders can walk, fish, go wild swimming, cycle, E-bike, snooze, sunbathe etc etc. They are guaranteed a lovely time in your absence!
experienced riders
You will need to be at least an intermediate rider, able to control a fit horse at a fast gallop, up and down steep, very rough, wild open country, veering around rocks and gorse - and not fall off if he should suddenly shy at a rock, sheep, or even a Dartmoor hex!
You must not weigh more than 14 stone including riding clothes and boots. If in doubt - we will get out the scales!!
You will need to have a kite-marked hard hat that fits. We cannot provide riding clothing/equipment.
And you will need to be ready for the worst weather that Dartmoor can inflict upon us!
